COURSE ON PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF INSULIN THERAPY FOR DIABETES EDUCATORS (CPAITDE)

Diabetes mellitus remains a significant global health concern, requiring effective management strategies to achieve optimal outcomes, and reduce the disease burden. As the disease progresses, many individuals with type 2 diabetes require insulin therapy to achieve and maintain optimal glycemic control, prevent complications, and improve quality of life. Besides, people with type 1 diabetes require lifelong insulin therapy, and insulin is also the preferred choice of therapy in certain situations like gestational diabetes, and in inpatient settings.

Insulin was discovered more than a century ago, and yet despite the proven efficacy, its initiation and optimal use are often delayed due to clinical inertia, misconceptions, concerns regarding hypoglycemia, fear of injections, and inadequate patient education. This highlights the need for structured, practice-oriented training that equips HCPs with the capability to deliver evidence-based insulin care across diverse clinical settings.

The “Course on Practical Aspects of Insulin Therapy for Diabetes Educators (CPAITDE)” has been developed to address these educational needs through a comprehensive online learning program. The course is beneficial for diabetes educators, as well as physicians, nurses, and pharmacists who are involved in diabetes management and patient education. The course integrates current evidence, clinical guidelines, and practical experience to provide learners with a balanced understanding of both the science and the application of insulin therapy.

The curriculum comprises nine structured modules that comprehensively cover the practical aspects of insulin therapy.
